The law in Hegel's philosophy

The objective of this text is to present the understanding of the law in the philosophy of G.W.F. Hegel (1770-1831) both in his immediate concept and the Hegelian understanding of law as a critique of formalism and legalistic dogmatism. As much as possible, the concept of law is sought in the entirety of Hegelian philosophy or more precisely in the different texts in which the topic in question is considered.
To carry out this undertaking, the original works of Hegel in German were initially assumed as the main source and, as far as possible, with exposure through translations into the Portuguese language more recently. In this sense, the Science of Logic, the Encyclopedia of Philosophical Sciences in Compendium and the Philosophy of Right appear as the central references. From the indicated works it is evident that the law is being treated in its formal and material aspect, that is, form and content are presented in a complementary and constituent relationship.
