Synopsis
This study is centered on the Five Laws of Library Science (Ranganathan) applied to the Web – subject of master’s thesis “Modeling for distance courses via Internet, in the light of Information Science” - as a resource used and applied to guarantee the quality and educational and informational potentiality of distance courses via Internet. The principles of The Five Laws Applied to the Web can be reviewed as: universal information access., democratization of information., understanding cyber-students’ differences and needs., time factor adding value to information and development dynamics. This study also includes a mini checklist designed to help multidisciplinary teamwork to create and put distance courses via Internet on the market. The steps in the architecture development process are: Diagnostics, Planning., Development., Implementation and Process Assessment, included in the mini-checklist as parameters of The Five Laws Applied to the Web.
