A produção de informação sobre o meio ambiente no Brasil: condicionantes técnicos, sociais e políticos

This work attempts acquainted aspects to the environment information production and management in Brazil. Detaches the Special Secretary of the Environment creation , in 1973, and the 6.938/81 Act, as marks of the environment policy in the country, and of the information and communication devices to get viable this policy. It describes the environment information characteristics since a recovering of the Information Science literature, identifying the main informational sources and recourses acquainted to environment thematic, as well as attesting the intermittent character of the environment information production in the country, impelled by international or specific environment events in Brazil. It focuses the Environment National Politics in Brazil, with prominence for the Environment National Information System, highlighting the factors that recently impelled it, and the aspects that restrict its source and channel information possibilities. Lastly, social and political conditionants of the environment information production are debated.
